Independence#
Nobody outside the editorial team decides what runs. Paid placements are edited to the same standard as everything else, and we turn down pitches — including paid ones — that we do not think are good enough or that point somewhere we are not comfortable sending readers.
Sourcing#
We link to primary sources where they exist: documentation, the changelog, the filing, the researcher’s own write-up. Where we are reporting something we cannot verify ourselves, we say who is claiming it.
Testing#
Tool reviews and comparisons are based on our own use. Where a vendor gave us access, we say so. Where we only tried the free tier, we say that too — it changes what the review is worth.
Disclosure#
Sponsored and contributed articles carry a notice at the top of the page, and their outbound links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow". Affiliate links are marked where used. We run no display advertising.
AI#
We do not publish machine-generated articles under a human byline. AI tools may be used for research, transcription or a first outline; the writing, the testing and the judgement are human, and the named author is accountable for it.
Corrections#
Factual errors are corrected as soon as we know about them. Substantive corrections get a dated note at the foot of the article saying what changed. Typos are just fixed.
Removal requests#
We do not remove published articles because someone has changed their mind about the coverage. We do remove content that turns out to be plagiarised, materially wrong, or that links somewhere it should not.
